ALZHEIMERS' EYE TEST
Count every "F" in the following text:
FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...
(SEE BELOW)
HOW MANY ?
..................... 3?
WRONG, THERE ARE .. 6! No joke.
READ IT AGAIN !
Really, go back and try to find the 6 F's before you scroll down.
The reasoning behind is further down.
The brain cannot process "OF".
Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!
Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a genius. Three is normal, four is quite rare.

I'm normal because I counted 3 at first

Asian_fusion,
Haha, me too, I quickly counted and got three, and have to go back to count it again. Fun test.

I counted 6, but only because I read about the test recently - from what I read, it's not exactly that the brain can't process of, but people reading quickly tend to ignore small words like of. My guess is that less experienced non-native English speakers might count more.

I also counted three at first. This is a really good test, I am English speaking and born and raised in America. I still counted ONLY three F's at first. I do not believe it has anything to do with being a native speaker.
Interesting test!

DrStan, you clearly missed my point - I said most native speakers would count 3 and non-native speakers more. If anything, you are supporting my hypothesis.
