Il Mare -- 時越愛 Il Mare is a South Korean film made in 2000, starring Jun Ji-hyun and Lee Jung-Jae. The title, Il Mare, means 'The Sea' in Italian, and is the name of the seaside house which is the setting of the story. Two people both live there two years apart in time, but are able to communicate through a mysterious post box. The film was remade starring Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves in 2006 as The Lake House. I like this film cause sometimes we wanting to reconnect with someone in our past. This one is a twist to that theme in that two peoples never meeting but somehow are able to communicate through a mailbox. I think lots of peoples make a decision they want to changing but once make the choice cannot go back in time to fix the mistake. I have a boyfriend wanting to go to school in Canada so I following him to Waterloo University in 1999 to go school there too but I realise that maybe is just a young romance, you know what I mean? Just falling for someone and then so young to make so important decision in life with really no life experience. Anyway, I deciding that maybe is wrong decision so I coming back to California and I going to Berkeley instead. Last year I meeting again at party and I not really know he gonna be there but he is with his new wife. Few minutes I have chatting with him making me think that maybe I make the wrong choice then and all I should do was to grow with him but instead I running away from him. So I wondering to myself what happen if I never do that? So in the movie Il Mare the girl have the same experience and she asking person other end of the mailbox to please tell her boyfriend not to leaving her go Eruope to school cause if he do he is gonna find someone else and they will never get chance to marry. If you not see before, maybe you should see the movie. When I see Lake House and Il Mare I cry so much. VICKY |

Hmmm... I guess that answers part of my email, but I was in Waterloo during that time also. Wonder if we ever crossed by each other. But most likely we know people in common. Sometimes it's easy to look back and think what if I did this or what if I did that. But you made the choice you made and I guess that's just part of life. It's normal though...
