Regardless of your political affiliation, should a woman be in charge of the military?
Yes, a woman is qualified to be the Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Military.
No, a woman is not qualified to be the Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Military
Perhaps, if they are only throwing kisses.

Perhaps right now there is not a woman qualified for this job. But I don't think that a woman could not do it. Women are men don't have to be so different. Mostly it's what society tells them to be that they are. On the other hand, I do kind of like feminine women, but that doesn't mean I think everyone should be like that, it's just my preference.

My opinion:

men should be commander in chief.

i mean "true men"

not those that were petty, fickle minded in decision.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............ what am i talking about.

Let us get real here. The removal of women from harm in battle has nothing to do with tender feelings or protective umbrellas for the gentle sex. Historically it has everything to do with two things. First, that society can afford the loss of hundreds of men in place of one woman. One man can impregnate countless women for replacement purposes, So men are expendable, whereas in bearing children women are not.

Secondly that mixing women in combat teams endangers all, as an instinctive need for men is to protect women, at the expense of discipline, and orders. The same objection applies to male/male lovers on combat teams.

Hell we all know that women can be as nasty and violent as men, look at Golda Meir, and Maggie Thatcher. Sure you can be just as blood thirsty as men, but we need to preserve you to produce the next generation. Why do you think 20 years separated W.W. 1 and W.W.2??? German women were busy producing the next crop of soldiers. The reproductive capacity of Society has to be protected.

18 year old men MUST (by law) sign up for Selective Service. This is a government controlled list that the feds can use to force men to serve in the military in the event a military draft is enacted.

Some of the penalties that men can undure if they refuse to sign up for Selective Service are:

1. Imprisonment for up to 5 years and a $250,000 fine.
2. They are NOT eligible for financial aid for college (student loans, Pell Grants. etc.).
3. They are NOT eligible for federal employment.
4. They are NOT eligible for federal job training.
5. They might NOT be able to get a state issued driver's license.
6. They might NOT be eligible for citizenship if they are an immigrant.

Women are exempt from these responsibilities and penalties. If we want a woman to have the RIGHTS as Commander-in-Chief (like drafting men and sending them to die), then shouldn't that same woman have the RESPONSIBILITY to sign up for Selective Service?

However, women may serve in the military, and except as fighter pilots, they are prohibited by law from serving in any combat branch of the U.S. military.
