音樂為孤獨的人 - Music for Lonely People

I am driving down the Bayshore Freeway today alone, as usual, and it really sucks because I really hate driving and I cannot get into the car pool lane with just me in the car driving down to Mountain View for the job interview so I'm going so slow that I can acutally see the grass growing along the freeway.

Then I turn on the radio and all I get are the following music for the 45 minute drive.

====================

"Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood. Revenge songs don't get much sweeter than this.

"Cry Me A River" by Justin Timberlake. Before "What Goes Around...Comes Around," there was this bitter -- and even better -- kiss off.

"Irreplaceable" by Beyonce. Never have three little words meant so much. And I don't mean "I love you." We're talking about "To the left."

"Love Is a Losing Game" by Amy Winehouse. Defeated. Destroyed. Done. This is what a broken heart sounds like.

"Love Will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division. Ah, the gloom and doom of romance.

"Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson. Only a relationship exorcism could work up this kind of rocking rage.

"What's Love Got to Do with It" by Tina Turner

"You Give Love a Bad Name" by Bon Jovi. Shot by Cupid. And then shot through the heart.

"You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morissette. So much for wishing them well.
If only I had Tina's toughness -- and legs.

(Copied from the latest issue of people magazine found in the ladies room at the interview building. What, you think I can write this good?)

I think maybe give yourself at the least,a week in between the job pursuit and this current situation, it takes time to adjust from on thing to another.. and loosing anything requires time to re focus.. don't just go get a "I'll show them job".. because, you won't be happy in it once the mood settles down.. go do something you like to do, that you can do alone .. if it's nothing but a drive down the coast for a hundred miles or so, pick a hotel and spend a night, then drive back the following day.... you will feel much better in the full of it .. we are Human, not machines .. we don't just turn on and turn off like that, behind the loss of anything.

Whatever happened to the Prius your brother bought for you? You can drive a hybrid on the carpool lane without the DMV decal these days.
