OBAMA IS A LIAR

Notable & Quotable
March 17, 2008; Page A17
Gerald Posner writing at HuffingtonPost
(Edited by Vicky)

. . . . Wright's most incendiary comments, those implying that America -- because of its own actions -- deserved the 9/11 terror attacks.

Wright made his comments on September 16, only 5 days after the deadly strikes in New York and Washington. He said, in part, "We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye. . . ."

. . . .If the parishioners of Trinity United Church were not buzzing about Reverend Wright's post 9/11 comments, then it could only seem to be because those comments were not out of character with what he preached from the pulpit many times before. In that case, I have to wonder if it is really possible for the Obamas to have been parishioners there -- by 9/11 they were there more than a decade -- and not to have known very clearly how radical Wright's views were. If, on the other hand, parishioners were shocked by Wright's vitriol only days after more than 3,000 Americans had been killed by terrorists, they would have talked about it incessantly. Barack -- a sitting Illinois State Senator -- would have been one of the first to hear about it.

Can't you imagine the call or conversation? "Barack, you aren't going to believe what Revered Wright said yesterday at the church. You should be ready with a comment if someone from the press calls you up."

But Barack now claims he never heard about any of this until after he began his run for the presidency, in February, 2007.

MY OPINION

I think Obama is a liar by convenience.

Wow SteveZ. You really out did yourself this time.

Hmm, did you happen to see a movie called "Conspiracy Theory?

Did you over doze on too many rice krispies when you were a baby?

Or did someone drop you on your head?

My goodness. You certainly are a bitter person.

Human? I don't think so.

It is not the media who tell us that Ron Paul cannot be elected. It is the 99.99% of the Americans who did not support him at all.

Sounds you want to be like Hitler. Select someone no one wants to be the leader of this nation by shoving your ideas down our throats.

Not going to happen, sonny boy.

Why don't you go outside and play with your dolls, like a good little boy.

Rejoyce,

Bravo to that:

"It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: I desire mercy, not sacrifice.'For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Its so true, that one can not always judge another by mere company.
While I may not always agree with what you post, I just wanted to say
that I agree on this point.

We share this company together - yet, we can be, and are very
different. And there is nothing wrong with that.. Because
we can see the good things in others, and can accept the differences
and even some bad things. Just as we ourselves are also accepted
the same ways, by others.

"Ron Paul is the right man but not at this time, since he does not have the major support he needs to be elected. We can continue to argue about his position but that will not get him elected."

how do we know this? Because the media has told us so? Are you to believe those poles in 100% faith that they truly represent the mass of American opinion? Maybe just like your belief... Peoples beliefs are CREATED by the media. But since the Media is a PAID system, we can not trust its accuracy. As its funding comes from sources
which may be opposing to the truths.

If we as a people are always voting for the 'Lesser of Two evils', then we are never going to win PERIOD. People need to take that chance, and Vote their true beliefs. Not vote for another because of the created Media Fear mongering.

And or, we need to petition/protest/demand that the system is changed.

"As for the issue of Blackwater, it is something that our Congress has imposed upon our civilian operations overseas. The State Department, USAID, and other departments are not authorized to raise their own para-military units."

You seem to know a lot more about this sort of thing than you should. But lets get to the reality of this. America is being Privatized one piece at a time. It makes it a lot easier
to take down a scam and not harm an actual govt. body this way. It makes it easier for the rich tycoons to get even richer. And easier to hide all the dirt.

Its Bush that funds these Blackwater groups... and if you watch
the Video, you can clearly see people are being mowed down for
several minutes, without any cause or threat at all. And if you look
for more, you can find a Blackwater member telling the beliefs of the
Blackwater members: They believe they are killing in the name of God. How ironic ehh?! Cause that is supposedly why we are still there..
to stop people from Killing in the name of God.

And if you paid attention, you would see that Blackwater is not being punished. In fact, its being expanded, and getting more and
more manpower and contracts. Its the unofficial new military.
The Nazi squad.

And BTW ‒ The Mel Gibson movie is based on REAL events that have took place. Search MK ULTRA. You will find out that several people
who had been tortured and put into mind-altering programs, had managed to snap out of it and get enough dirt on the Govt. to turn the tables, expose the program, and win Damages in COURT!

And of course, you will find out VERY EASILY, that US Govt. had been conducting Radiation experiments on its OWN 'unsuspecting' CITIZENS for YEARS. You can even find the Vid of Bill Clinton Apologizing for it.

What does these things say about Conspiracies and the Govt.??? It says, that they ABSOLUTELY HAPPEN. That they are DOCUMENTED FACT!

And yet... you think we should Trust these people?!
Keep spinning the Circular Logic...

Do you even know what the North American Union is?! And what it will do to our economy and FREE RIGHTS?! What will happen to the Constitution when this happens?!

“They are not cold-blooded killers but I know they will kill if need be to protect our adopted American values. “

They kill on command. Those who refuse to Kill end up in very bad situations usually. Most are highly uninformed as well. When your boss tells you that guy (a) is evil... Do you dispute that
fact? Or do you just pull the trigger?

As told in his post:

“ I took an oath to defend my Country and follow the lawful orders of my superiors. Do I think anything I did was illegal? While I cannot explain everything I did, a blanket answer would be "NO", I do not believe what I did was illegal. “

This person cant explain things which seem odd ‒ yet he claims he doest doubt them. Instead, he does what he is told, and believes whatever they tell him. This is selective innocence.
Doesnt mean he did the right things.

He did state that he had no choice. However, nobody can make ME pull a trigger if I choose not to do so. Though, they might be able
to trick me into it. While I wouldnt want to be put in that position, nor do I judge him at all... I merely state the reality of the Govt./Military/War. It has almost Nothing to do with the soldiers. And everything to do with the Button pushers.

Those who use excuses of Patriotism as a banner for winning these arguments, only distort the reality further.

If the CIA tells the President that Country (A) has WMD's... do you start a War? Or do you double check your facts?

If YOU stood to make Trillions of Dollars from my country borrowing money from you, and You also controlled our countries Currency Dollars Value... doesnt that seem a bit suspect, too trusting?! Too much uninhibited power?!

“I wish I could make him understand that the rich is not a disease. “

Never did I say that. You do not understand my points. Your Father was Not rich compared to certain others. Certain others who are trillions of dollars richer ‒ and own and control things that shape the very world and all its problems.
Not every rich man has bad intent. Yet, make no mistake, there are plenty that place money as the top priority in their life, and care less about those who are less fortunate in life. (Those like Bush, who had time to warn the citizens of New Orleans, and chose Not to do so) Also, have you heard of the "Bilderberg Group Meetings" ?? If not, then I suggest you do your homework, see who attends, and explain why these people get together and what they talk about. And then explain "bohemian grove"... Have fun!

“anti-American rhetoric “

His choice of words were not the best. Using 'We deserved it' rather than, 'What did you expect'.. makes a big difference. Yet, I want to voice my opinion on so called 'Anti-American' or 'Anti-Patriot' Gibberish.

Some choose to view their country like they view their football teams. In an Egotistical way. This does not speak the truth about all the angles of the game, or about true morality.

I do not call myself an “American”. I am a HUMAN. I dont have to
praise what Americas leaders do, or follow popular opinion, merely because I live here. I believe in a HIGHER cause, rather than being a 'FAN' of one “side”. No country is perfect. No person is perfect. Everything should be judged on an individual basis.

Actions denote that there will be opposing re-actions. And there is no doubt, that if someone is planning to blow people up... . That they must have a strong reason.

His statements may have a ring of truth.. and to that, some people who are FANS of TEAM AMERICA dont want to hear that their team may be in the wrong. That the Coaches may have made poor and or corrupt choices...

Yet, does that make a person who thinks outside the 'Fan' spectrum
wrong?! Does it mean they are Anti-Team America?! Or maybe instead, they see Way beyond the Team Crap... and sees both sides positives and negatives...

And finally, no, I dont accept anyone telling me that they can sign up and post on Asia Friendfinder and cant use a search engine to look up data.
Type "bohemian grove video" in the search box, and click on links.
Easy as pie.

From what I have seen of SteveZ’s comments over the past couple of years (reading his past posts), it seems to me that he is always concerned about some sort of government conspiracy. I usually find his comments amusing and since I am not in the business of trying to censor anyone (well, I have done it a few times to others keep the blog civilized), I usually let his comments stay since everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I cannot understand why people want to find fault in what the US does when it comes to trying to protect the American people. In the university, I read of the “Domino Theory” and its perceived consequences.

Where the “Domino” indeed fall, the consequences were indeed dire. For instance, when the US was forced out of Cambodia and Vietnam, hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese were sent off to brutal reeducation camps. In Cambodia, millions were eliminated. The Iran domino saw the elimination of an entire class of people and the rise to power of a tyrannical clergy bent on imposing their twisted view of religion on their people.

Earlier dominos that we do not often take into account is the fall of Eastern Europe to the Soviet Union at the end of World War II.

What is truly fascinating is that in all instances where radicals took control of a country and its people, the ones we would consider to be liberals were most often the ones who where imprisoned, sent off to the gulags, or executed. Why did that happen? Because the radicals felt threatened by the liberals who wanted change in society and the change the radicals were bringing was their own version of total control held in the hands of a very select few.

Now, I am much aware of what happened in Central and South America during the 1970s & 1980s. It was a hot spot in the Cold War that was fed by the Soviet Union to keep the United States busy and off balanced. Having seen the American people react to their failed policies in South Vietnam, in part the failure was created by weak-willed media personalities, the Soviet Union knew that Presidents Ford, and especially President Carter would be unable to act decisively to halt their expansion of Communist based movements in Latin America. Carter’s failures as a President can be laid to his emasculation of the intelligence services during his tenure. This resulted in failures in Iran, Central America, South West Africa, Afghanistan, and almost South Korea.

The same media-liberals who felt liberated under Carter found themselves outfoxed by President Regan in the 1980s. Regan took the Cold War to the Soviets and would probably would have had great success if not for the Congressional interference in his clandestine foreign policy operations that were interrupted by the Iran-Contra affair. My goodness, it certainly was an operation that in the end forced the Soviet Union to back off from it’s attempt to create localized “Hot Wars” during the Cold War and in turn led to the ultimate downfall of the Soviet Union.

The United States is not perfect and if you notice, this country is one of the few that actually investigates its own soldiers after a military engagement where civilians are killed. If these soldiers are found to be at fault they are brought before a military court, tried, and most often convicted. In addition, I sometimes wonder what I would do if someone were shooting at me. Could I tell the difference between an individual with a weapon and one without? Would I just shoot at anyone in the area where the firing was coming from? That is indeed a difficult decision our soldiers need to make in the split-second in which they have to act. Our media second-guesses our soldiers too often.

As for the issue of Blackwater, it is something that our Congress has imposed upon our civilian operations overseas. The State Department, USAID, and other departments are not authorized to raise their own para-military units. Therefore, they are forced to outsource their physical security needs to organizations such as Blackwater. These companies will not operate under the same rules of engagement that we impose upon American soldiers. In addition, while it is true there have been a few isolated cases where they exceeded the rules of engagement the U.S. military must operate under, they will be brought to accountability someday.

I find it amusing to read SteveZ’s comments since I find it ill informed and full of conspiracy theories, somewhat similar to the part played by Mel Gibson in the movie of the same name. There is indeed a price that Americans need to pay for the freedoms we have, especially if people like SteveZ do not have the courage to put on a uniform and go into harm’s way to protect the values he professes to hold dear.

I have two people who are in harm’s way for America today. My brother is a U.S. Marine Corps aviator and he leaves for the Middle East in a few weeks This will be his 3rd tour of duty there. My uncle is currently stationed in Germany and makes many inspection trips to Iraq and Afghan. He has been involved there since October 2001. These are two very honorable men I have a lot of respect for them. They are not cold-blooded killers but I know they will kill if need be to protect our adopted American values.

My opinion

Portions from “To Die for NAFTA”,
Patrick J. Buchanan
March 11, 2008
(edited by jpollock)

Lost U.S. jobs should not be our primary concern, said McCain, "I've always felt the best thing to do is to create the best weapons system we can at minimum cost to taxpayers."
But if McCain thinks cost trumps all in building weapons of war, why not outsource the building of U.S. carriers, cruisers, destroyers, frigates and submarines to the foreign shipyards that construct America's merchant ships? Why not hire and train foreign sailors as crews?
Why not outsource the scores of thousands of U.S. government jobs handling Social Security checks and tax returns to Bangladesh and India? After all, the neocons want to hire foreign mercenaries to fight America's wars and reward them with U.S. citizenship, as the Romans did in the last days of the empire.
What does it mean to be an American anymore?
Is it going to take 20 more years for Republicans to awaken to the economic disaster they have created and the political ruin they are inviting with this fanatic faith in "free trade," while the rest of the world loots our country through mercantilism?
When Europe imposes a 15 percent value-added tax on U.S. imports and rebates the VAT on exports to the United States, that is not free trade. When China devalues its currency 45 percent, as it did in 1994, and bolts it down to suck jobs and factories out of the United States, that is not free trade. When Japan manipulates its currency, preaches economic nationalism to its people, and shelters its market for TVs, autos and steel, while dumping into and capturing ours, that is not free trade.
McCain admits to knowing almost nothing about economics and is now being advised by my old friend Jack Kemp. In a Wall Street Journal essay bemoaning my views, Kemp concedes, "I'm on the advisory board of Toyota North America and now drive a hybrid Lexus."
Nor is Jack the only pol who has found happiness in a foreign employ. Ex-secretaries of state and Cabinet officers, ex-senators and congressmen, and ex-White House aides are getting rich working for foreigners who are carting off American jobs, American technology, American markets, American factories -- and America's future.
Yet retribution may be at hand for our multinational GOP. In Ohio, NAFTA is a five-letter word with a four-letter meaning, as Ohio lost a huge slice of the 3.5 million manufacturing jobs that vanished under the McCain-Kemp-Bush policy of unilateral disarmament in the trade wars being waged against America.
Look at the Bush-McCain record: $4 trillion in trade deficits, $2.5 trillion in manufactures alone. One in every six manufacturing jobs, 3 million, gone. With America borrowing $2 billion a day to pay for foreign goods, we have seen a collapse of the dollar, the price of gold quadruple to $1,000 an ounce, oil soar to $107 a barrel and gas heading toward $4 a gallon.
Where Bush has created an average of 46,000 new private-sector jobs a month, Bill Clinton did five times as well, creating 220,000 a month.
Hillary won Ohio denouncing the NAFTA deal Bill Clinton cut. The lady gets it. McCain remains a loyal NAFTA man. Good luck in Ohio and Michigan. As the Great Peer said, "The commonest error in politics is sticking to the carcass of dead policies."
[end editioral]

So not all Republicans feel McCain is the best of three evils.
Ohio and Michigan may not go to the Republicans by default. Just my opinion.

Hi ChercheLeigh,

I appreciate your point of view since you have real experience in US military operations. I know you said you aren't an appoligist for US foreign policy. I would agree with you that our standard of living (I am Canadian) has historically benefitted from the power of the US.

However I wonder what your views on the motivations of the US "enemies" are. I mean imagine you were someone from South or Central America and you were doing military operations inside the US. Could you imagine it would piss off (at least some) American citizens? After a while perhaps people would be so pissed off (especially ones that maybe don't have a good standard of living) to look for some way to strike back?

Sorry really I'm mainly just curious since you were sort of closer to the front lines and also because it was long enough ago that you can probably reflect on it a bit more. (I like to try to understand everyone's point of view ... actually I also ask you because you seem very polite ...)

Thanks,
Looking forward to your response.

Ron Paul is the right man but not at this time, since he does not have the major support he needs to be elected. We can continue to argue about his position but that will not get him elected.

As I see it, we have the choice of the lesser of three evils at this point in time. The Republicans have given us McCain through their version of the primary season.

The Democrats are still working through the process of figuring out which candidate they will select to run against McCain. The longer it takes for them to come out with a candidate to unite behind the more divided they will be come November. I don't think this infighting can be healed at the convention, especially the way both sides seem to want to take no prisoners.

What is worst about the Democrats, in my view, is that the extremist in both candidates’ camps are taking hard line positions and throwing poison darts at each other that there can be no reconciliation of the opposing camps.

Therefore, in the end, we will probably see a Republican in the White House because two states, Michigan and Florida will go to the Republicans by default.

My opinion.

To keep our enemies from attacking the USA, America needs to be strong and negotiate from a position of power. Not to kiss butt and turn the other cheek whenever we are threatened.

As for his minister, for him to step forward now and still defend his minister based on what he told us on Monday makes him less of a choice for President.

If you can imagine that Obama is being portrayed as the messiah for the Blacks in America, can you imagine what the Black community will be demanding he deliver to them when he is elected?

I cannot believe he can be evenhanded when it comes to dealing with other minorities since he is forced to go to his Black base for support in order to be reelected to a second term.

Another problem for Obama is his dependence on the extreme left of his party to get him to where he is now. That wing is going to be demanding a major policy change that brings more of our personal lives under governmental control and scrutiny.

I wonder, if he is elected, will we see his minister swearing him in?

By the way rejoicefrance,

The Blackwater group wasnt killing children strapped with
explosives.

They were cruising down a pedestrian road firing at people
walking the sides of the streets. They fired on pedestrian
cars as they passed them.

All of the Targets were pedestrians that were unarmed, and
posed no threat. In fact, many cars were moving out of the way
of them, and many people even raising their hands up in the air
to signify peace... yet, these blackwater troops killed them
anyways... as well as video taped it - cause they were proud of
it.

And this is STILL happening now. And its Funded by our very own
govt.

Its the Govt. who is the REAL Terrorist today.
Anyone can see it, who opens their eyes.

rejoicefrance,

The very first step, is to wake up and look at all the facts.
Not merely the popular spread information (paid media), but from many other sources that are not posted from 'special interests'.
Understand the game. Understand how it works. Look at all the
angles... rather than go on a shallow ill-informed opinion,
or a liking to the way a person looks, speaks, etc.

For example, Ron Paul appears to be dead on about our economy,
and what we need to do to change it so that its not a sinking ship.
However... how many people have heard what he has to say? How
many people actually care enough to seek it out?

Instead, people would rather swallow the: 'I have a plan! I stand
for change!', lines that all the others lay down. And as always,
Nothing changes with these people.

Ron Paul actually discusses FREELY and OPENLY in great detail what
needs to be done, and what he would do. Yet, do the others? Whats
the big secret? If the others REALLY wanted change, they wouldnt
care WHO made the change, so long as it was made. So therefore,
they would FREELY and OPENLY drop all the details so that anyone
could use the information to make a better world for us.

Yet, that is NOT what they are doing. And, they dont really care
about the masses. They care mostly for themselves.

Its been proven all throughout our past... and through the great
many atrocious examples of immoral and unjust acts by our Govt.
leaders. (such as radiation experiments on innocents)

Step 1, is to become awake yourself. Step 2, is to spread that
awareness, to wake the others.

Enough people who know better, will be a lot harder to deceive
and manipulate. It may also create a greater bond with each other,
and a renewed compassion for each other... instead of selfishness,
greed, and cold hearts.

When so many people stand together, we will than have POWER. Power
to DEMAND IMMEDIATE changes. And those changes will be for the best
of humanity.

Otherwise, we are merely a ship of fool slaves, that these corrupt
rich families use as tools to attain their own personal satisfactions
with.

The battle always starts within yourself. Be brutal. The truth may
hurt at first, but eventually, it will set you free. It will cure all
of your problems. It will put you on a new path, and inspire others
to do the same within themselves.

So what you are saying is that it was fine for the Usa to
nuke tons of innocent men, woman, and children?

Dont you think a video of a small scale example in a desert, would
have been much better to stop a war, than actually having no
humanity and dropping such an Evil weapon on masses of innocents?!
Unimaginable pains and sufferings, lasting lifetimes!

That it was fine for the USA govt. to run radiation test on its own unsuspecting citizens, for decades! (Yes, its true... they were
caught - and Clinton said he was sorry. Boy does that make it
all better now doesnt it?!)

That it was fine to kill just about all the Indians, and seize
their lands.

That its was fine for the USA to park its military all over the
place where it does not belong, and is not welcome? (influencing,
corrupting, bullying, and judging... all the while, USA is overflowing with corruption, massive problems & injustices...etc)

That its fine that the CIA has abused its power, and used
it to get leaders of other countries out of power (at the expense
of many innocent lives)

That it was fine that a phony war was waged in the name of
Weapons of Mass destruction? (Weapons were marked destroyed
long ago - yet creative paperwork editing ensured the means
to a war for Oil)

That a bush relative heads up a PRIVATE Military group called
'Black water' whos members are killing innocent Iraq and Afgan
citizens (every day) who pose no threat at all - and Video taping it as they laugh about it. (see vids on youtube. its disgusting, as are
these people, as is this Govt.)

America has become the bully, and 'cultural destroyer'.
If I actually believed in (non govt) Terrorist, then I could
certainly understand the reasons to attack Usa.

Ohh, but I guess a little lie is so very offensive in the
great scheme of things now isnt it? Makes it easier to direct
all that rage at something trivial, rather than the deal with the
real hard hitting truths...

Try looking from outside in, rather than from your own limited
'rosy' perspectives.

All politicians are Liars. As are most people on this earth.
Most people just lie to themselves.

"Wright's most incendiary comments, those implying that America -- because of its own actions -- deserved the 9/11 terror attacks."

Although this is a completely taboo thing to say or talk about, I don't think it's devoid of truth. I think "deserve" is the wrong word though, never do innocents deserve to be killed, perhaps "caused" or "created" is more realistic. These kinds of things don't happen just randomly and in a vacuum.

I think this is probably still not something we can talk about dispassionately as it's only 7 years old. Probably we will have to wait another 20.

Thanks,
