I'm really missing Windows XP...

Yes, I know all about the lack of support and malware vulnerability. Windows 7 lost the magic. Windows 8 and 8.1 are in the ozone and I cannot get any serious computing done with them.

Each have their issues but I would be totally happy to see Microsoft release an updated version of Windows XP.

Something more secure with lots of familiar things we have learned to love about the original XP.

For now I'll call it XP2015 and I would switch ALL my computers if given the chance.

Seriously...

 daisy... I haven't heard that one. Install Firefox and see if the problem goes away.

I have an old netbook running XP but it's out on loan. I'll check to see if there is an issue with that one.

 hermit, the IT guy in my office has mentioned Ubuntu booted from a USB memory (thumb drive) I'll have to give it a try on my old netbook that had a hard disc crash.
