Your eyes are bigger than your stomach...

On Friday evening, I picked my wife up to go to dinner and the choices were Mexican or Japanese Sushi. I voted for sushi. Since it was unanimous, we went to our favorite buffet.

Somewhere on the second round, my wife said she was full, but there was food left on her plate. It's not like her to overindulge and my comment was "It looks like your eyes are bigger than your stomach"

Asking if she understood the meaning of the saying "Your eyes are bigger than your stomach"

She replied "Yes, Chinese have same meaning"

Agreed. They do the same here. If you leave food on the plate, you have to pay extra. Especially when they have raw fish on a ball of rice. People eat the fish and wrap a napkin around the uneaten rice so the waitress doesn't see them wasting food.
The place we go to has a lunch/day price and the fish comes on rice. The night menu has a higher price but they serve chunks of sashimi and crab legs.
