Super Typhoon Meranti...
I see that Typhoon Meranti passed over a portion of Taiwan and struck the mainland of China yesterday and it course went north.

I live in Miami Florida and have experienced many Hurricanes that are similar if not the same a Typhoons.

Hopefully, the people in that region will be spared of the flooding and dangers that surround huge storms like that.

 I did a quick check to see that Typhoons and Hurricanes are the same Northern Hemisphere but different regions. Atlantic and Pacific ocean storms are Hurricanes and North of Australia to the Asian sea are Typhoons.
Any rotational storm in the Southern Hemisphere is called a Cyclone.
