Thank you, pinkcrystal. Happy Valentine's Day to you. As for me, I don't have money or honey.  To come to USA, the younger ages, the better to adapt to the U.S. society and learning English easier. Please consult to your immigration attorney how to apply. Once you are in USA, don't look back that life was much easier in your country. Be strong and humble. Start over a new life, you need to learn driving, English. Go to "adult school" to learn English, don't hide in Chinese community speaking Chinese. I came to USA when I was 24 going 25. You are 45 now, put down your pride. Start a new life, be strong. Honesty is the best policy.

pinkcrystal, If Obama threw away Trump gift in front of him, I believe Trump would be very mad and shouted to Obama. If the video you saw was true, I will put on a blog and so many Americans will do the the same to attack Obama. I saw the whole inauguration ceremony on TV and internet later, I heard Obama said twice "White House protocol" that Obama couldn't open that gift but let the security agent opened it first. Please check the video again. I have voted Obama twice. It doesn't mean I have bias on Obama. Obama has empathy for the less fortunate people, he welcome foreigners came to USA. When White cop shot the Black boys dead or Black men shot White cop for revenge, he didn't bias Black. He asked Blacks to calm down and follow the laws. Obama didn't bias Blacks because himself is a Black. I have said before, living in USA, you have to be willing to be assimilated. You have to learn English well, know their culture, to prevent misunderstanding. I have lived in California for almost 37 yrs, I watch English TV, magazines, internet news, ... I like English songs, eat American foods, .... to transform myself. However, I saw many Chinese live in Chinese communities, speak Mandarin, read Chinese newspaper, listen to Chinese songs, .... They don't want to be assimilated. When I just came from Taiwan 37 yrs ago, there were only Taiwanese in USA (very little Chinese), we Taiwanese even talked in English to each other to prevent unnecessary misunderstanding from Americans. Your daughter is in USA, I think you should let her know the importance of "assimilation" from their culture and customs. Are you coming to USA too? Honesty is the best policy.

Obama didn't throw away that parting gift. Obama said "there is White House protocol" meaning the gift needs to be opened by White House security agent first before president opens it. Just like the food need to be eaten by other staff before president eats it. That is "White House protocol".（尤指外交的）禮節 Obama gave it to White House security agent to open that gift and all four of them had to take pictures in front of journalists. Honesty is the best policy.
