What rules the World? -- BY William Ross Wallace

They say that man is mighty,

He governs land and sea;

He wields a mighty scepter

O’er lesser powers that be;

But a mightier power and stronger,

Man from his throne has hurled,

And the hand that rocks the cradle

Is the hand that rules the world.

都说人力无穷，

支配着陆地与大海，

行使着至高无上的王权，

统治着弱小的生灵。

然而还有更强大的力量，

将人从宝座上掀起，

是那双轻推着摇篮的手，

主宰着整个世界。

MOTHER "母亲"的含义

"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold.
"E" is for her eyes ,with the love－light shining,
"R" means right,and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER",
A word that means the world to me.

“M”代表她所给予我的无数，
“O”的意思是她在日渐老去，
“T”是她为抚育我洒下的泪，
“H”指她有像金子一般的心灵，
“E”就是她的眼睛，里面洋溢着爱的光芒，
“R”的意思是正确，因为她永远是对的。
将以上字母串在一起就是“母亲（mother）”，
这就是我的整个的世界。
