Love is like fire. Sometimes it takes a full box of matches, and sometimes it springs to life from a single glance, a touch, a shared breath.
Love is like water. A great river, gently carrying its waves toward the ocean, deep enough to overcome any obstacle. A mountain spring, cheerful, fast, playful. A thunderstorm, fast in coming, awesome in the power it releases in the brief hours of its existence.
Love is like air. The chinook wind, falling down the mountains. The tradewind that is as reliable as a steady heart. The air that is all around us, sustains us and lets us live another day. Sometimes taken for granted, sometimes unseen, but who could live without it?
Love is like earth. Plant the seeds of care and respect into its soil, and the harvest will be plentiful. A firm, supporting and feeding foundation to build the future upon.
When the love happens suddenly, unexpectedly, from a single glance, a touch, a shared breath, when it raises the tidal wave in the heart, it could be the most wonderful feeling in the world. The glance, the touch, the gift of a dream, such as the one given to Icarus....

I recently visited USA and was surprised just how few profiles are there from that country. I'd think it would be more popular on the other side of the pond!

I had a conversation with someone who said that it's better to not have a preconceived notion of how others should act, insead accepting them the way they do act. Insightful in many ways, still the question remains - how to apply this to people in subways who are quite active about shoving others out of the way.

Cultural differences?

I wonder how important are cultural differences to an interracial relationship? I mean, can subtle, small things become so big eventually as to completely destroy whatever was the relationship's foundation?
