The Clockof Life

* The Clock
of Life *

The clock of life is wound but once,
And no man has the power
To tell just when the hands will stop
At late or early hour.

To lose one's wealth is sad indeed,
To lose one's health is more,
To lose one's soul is such a loss
That no man can restore.

The present only is our own,
So Live, Love, toil with a will --
Place no faith in 'Tomorrow' --
For the clock may then be still.

I'm in the middle
of a swirling cloud
of butterflies
and all around me
flashes of colour
before my eyes
and if for a second
they stopped their motion
and settled down
then perhaps my head
would stop spinning
round and round
I try to catch one
but they're always slipping
through my hands
but one day I hope
that a butterfly
will decide to land

Just Thinking Of You
by Trisha

I picture your face
and I know it's true
another minute flew by
just thinking of you

I sit here and I wonder
I dream and I daze
people all around me
try to follow my gaze

Smiling and grinning
wondering too
how many minutes flew by
just thinking of you

I close my eyes
and what do I see
your cute little face
staring back at me

I am always happy
dreaming about you
I could sit here for hours
just thinking of you

I Miss You

by Jody L. Moody

I miss you in the morning,

When all the world is new,

I know the day can bring no joy,

Because it brings not you.

I miss the well-loved voice of you,

Your tender smile for me,

The charm of you,

The joy of your unfailing sympathy,

Because the world is full of folks; it's true,

But there was only one of you.

I miss you in the noontide,

The crowded city street,

Seems like a desert now,

I walk in solitude complete.

I miss your hands beside my own,

The light touch of your hand,

The quick gleam in the eye of you,

So sure to understand.

I miss you in the evening,

When daylight fades away,

I miss the sheltering arms of you,

To rest me for the day,

I try to think I see you yet,

There in the firelight gleams,

Weary at last; I sleep,

And I still miss you in my dreams.

During a quarrel with his parents, the announced, "I want excitement, adventure, money, and beautiful women. I'll never find it here at home, so I'm leaving. And don’t try to stop me!"

As he headed for the door, his father followed him.

"Didn't you hear me? Don’t try to stop me!"

"Stop you?" said his father, "I was thinking of joining you!"

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director what criterion was used to define whether or not a patient should be institutionalized.

"Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to
empty the bathtub."

"Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup."

"No." said the Director, "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?"

stopping by a woods on a snow evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Beauty in nature
brings love to my heart
Birds singing
sooth my soul
Sun shining
warms my body
Fresh air
cleanses my spirit
Sounds of water
calms my emotions
butterflies flying
make me soar
The magic
in it all
overwhelms me

Married couple in their 60's are visited by a fairy, who grants them both a wish.
I want to travel round the world with my darling husband, said the wife - 2 tickets for a luxury cruise appear in her hand.
Husband says sorry love but my wish is to have a wife 30years younger than me. So the fairy waves her wand and the husband became 92.
