The Rose Bud

A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully. Before it blossomed, he examined it. He saw the bud that would soon blossom and also the thorns.

He thought, "How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns?" Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and before it was ready to bloom, it died.

So it is with many people. Within every soul there is a rose. The God-like qualities planted in us at birth grow amid the thorns of our faults. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns.

We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us. We never realize our potential.

Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them. One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns and find the rose within others.

This is the charasteristic of love, to look at a person, and knowing their faults, recognize the nobility in their soul.

If we show them the rose, they will conquer the thorns.

A couple had two little mischievous boys, ages 8 and 10. They were always getting into trouble, and their parents knew that if any mischief occurred in their town, their sons would get the blame.

The boys' mother heard that a clergyman in town had been successful in disciplining , so she asked if he would speak with the boys. The clergyman agreed and asked to see them individually.

So, the mother sent her 8-years-old first, in the morning, with the older boy to see the clergyman in the afternoon.

The clergyman, a huge man with a booming voice, sat the young boy down and asked him sternly, "Where is God?"

The boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there with his mouth hanging open.

The clergyman repeated the question. "Where is God?"

Again, the boy made no attempt to answer.

So, the clergyman raised his voice some more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, "Where is God!?"

The boy screamed and bolted from the room. He ran directly home and dove into his closed, slamming the door behind him.

When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, "What happened?"

The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied : "We are in real BIG trouble this time! God is missing, and they think we did it!"

Dear God, I beg you!

Give me the Wisdom
to understand my boss.

Give me the Love
to forgive him.

Give me the Patience
to understand his deeds.

But Dearest God,
don't give me the Power

because if you give me the Power

I'll break his head.

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations,
Because they give you opportunity for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge,
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes,
They will teach you valuable lessons.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.

After having failed his exam in "Logistics and Organization", a student goes and confronts his lecturer about it.

Student : "Sir, do you really understand anything about the subject?"

Professor : "Surely I must. Otherwise I would not be a professor!"

Studen : "Great, well then I would like to ask you a question.

If you can give me the correct answer, I will accept my mark as is and go. If you however do not know the answer, I want you give me an "A" for the exam".

Professor : "Okay, it's a deal. So what is the question?"

Student : "What is legal, but not logical, but not legal, and neither logical, nor legal?"

Even after some long and hard consideration, the professor cannot give the student an answer, and therefore changes his exam mark into an "A", as agreed.

Afterwards, the professor calls on his best student and asks him the same question.

He immediately answers : "Sir, you are 63 years old and married to a 35 years old woman, which is legal, but not logical. Your wife has a 25 year old lover, which is logical, but not legal. The fact that you have given your wife's lover an "A", although he really should have failed, is neither legal, nor logical".

For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it.
For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it.
For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it.

11 people on a rope

Eleven people were hanging on a rope under a helicopter, ten men and one woman. The rope was not strong enough to carry them all, so they decided that one had to leave, because otherwise they were all going to fall. They weren't able to name that person, until the woman gave a very touching speech. She said that she would voluntarily let go of the rope, because, as a woman, she was used to giving up everything for her husband and or for men in general, and was used to always making sacrifices with little in return. As soon as she finished her speech, all the men started clapping.

You have created your fears.
And you can choose to lay them to rest.
You have created your dreams.
And you can choose to bring them fully to life.

Look all around you and realize that everything you see is what you have chosen to see.

Every thought you think is what you have chosen to think.

Day after day, by your words, your actions, and your thoughts, you have chosen your own path.

And that path has brought you to precisely where you are.

Now it is time to choose again.
Remember that with each and every choice you make, you determine the details of how your life will proceed.

It is serious responsibility as well as a wonderful, enormous opportunity.

For again and again, you can choose your way toward the life you truly wish to live.

A peacefulness follows any decision, even the wrong one.
