My Ideal Person:
Let us pause to think for a minute during such a grave time. The dominance of the US lasted for 50 years, and is now passing. Will China be the next world ruler?

In the West, we often feel the roots of modern order are in Economic systems of thought as developed by Adam Smith and John Maynard Keynes. These days, Keynes' ideas seem to rule the world.

But have they? There is 1 man who spoke about government regulation of the economy, inflation, the impact of the cost of basic goods and commodities on the people, and how to manage all these. And he explained all these things 2,500 years before Adam Smith or JM Keynes.

That man is 管仲. Maybe even Chinese people will say no he is just a kind of general or advisor and he lived after Confucious 孔子 and is not so important.

Wrong again. Guanzi lived maybe 150 years before Kongzi, and Confucious even complimented Guanzi a few times:

公九合诸Ë 99;不以兵车ļ 49;仲之力也å 14;其仁如其É 61;

管仲相桓Ð 44;霸诸侯一Ô 81;天下民到É 10;今受其赐ì 82;若匹夫匹å 19;之为谅也Ō 58;经於沟渎Ň 80;莫之知也

I have to guess - if you are Chinese, and this is the first time you hear this - you are quite shocked to read this. Oh yes. Kongzi/Confucious himself saying that Chinese started being a civilized and organized society because of Guan Zhong. Can it be true?

And if you are an American with love of history, you do not even know that this man has become the master of your life; explaining why you have no control of your life and why the government is failing to protect you.

Xunzi 荀子 says something similar about Guanzi:

夫齊桓公ć 77;天下之大ļ 80;焉倓然見ļ 49;仲之能足É 97;託國也

And in case you feel he was forgotten by the 汉 then let us hear what 陸賈 said in 新语:

故管仲相ċ 07;公詘節事× 31;專心一意ŭ 23;無境外之É 32;心無欹斜È 43;慮正其國å 14;制天下尊Ð 54;君而屈諸Ë 99;權行於海Ð 39;化流於諸ã 99;失道者誅ķ 77;義者顯舉Ç 68;事而天下ô 78;出一政而ţ 76;侯靡故聖É 54;執一政以Ń 61;百姓持一Ď 10;以等萬民û 52;以同一治Ň 80;明一統也

Now back to the world economy. Consider that Guan Zhong basically said things about government regulation of economies and inflation and the role of money and prices of things in the everyday person's life ... all that more than 2,000 years before Adam Smith or John Maynard Keynes.

Chinese need to revive his position in history. Because the US is simply following the predications of Guan Zhong and the Chinese explained this problem before even the beginning of Greek and Roman classical science and philosophy (which I studied for my degree, so I am sure about).

That is my thought for the day. Burn some incense to Guan Zhong and pray that he help us.
