Update: I've moved to New York City! I grew up here, so I am excited to be back "home." New job, new place, new neighborhoods to explore,,, I am having fun when I'm not working!
Hi, I'm your basic college professor type living in the U.S., here to find someone special or just someone to chat with. I'm 52, caucasian, 145 pounds, slim "runners" body build. I like black and white photography, the arts, antiques, movies, reading, and Asian cultures. I've been to Japan, Europe, South America, and China is my next stop. I love adventures, but I also appreciate basic stability in my life; an evening home is just as fun as going out. I can cry at the movies (just saw Chen Kaige's "Together" and loved it,,,"Hero," "Daggers,"... all great films! Also recently into Indian Bollywood flicks... a lot of fun!), and I like a variety of music (everything from Philip Glass to Steve Reich to U2 to lovely, lovely, Ludvig von B.). I enjoy biking and racketball to keep in shape, and I'm hoping to return to climbing soon.
My Ideal Person:
Looking for Ms. Right, but I also enjoy chatting and making new friends. I tend to enjoy the company and conversation of "city girls," (museums, symphony, art galleries, shopping...) but I can relax with just about anyone... someone who is excited about life, ideas, the arts, about the possibilities... I'm attracted to stable and bookish or professional women, but artsy or party girls also have their appeal. If you are into Prada and Manolo pumps, great, love the look -- and casual professional or downtown is great too. (Just for fun, in order, my preference for the women on the television show S*x and the City: 1st choice, Miranda the lawyer, 2nd, Charlotte the WASP, 3rd, Carrie the writer, 4th, Samantha the vamp). Starting to enjoy the Desperate Housewives show. I appreciate women with a practical side (lets rehab that bungalow together!). If you can handle a Sawzall, or know a Nikon from a Leica, or you beat me to the cartoons in The New Yorker, or you scan the New England Journal of Medicine, even better! And I'm pretty OK with a casual thing, too... I am very easy to get along with... so please drop me a note to say "hello."
