Why I don't like IPO stocks?

A MD from Asia Friendfinder contacted me that his friend made profits on RIVN (Rivian), an EV car maker that debuted on Nov 1 0, 20 21. He wanted me to trade RIVN. I refused and blocked him from contact me.

I have spent a thousand USD to learn how to read chart. The indicators RSI (Relative Strength Index), MACD, Slow STO (Stochastics), 50 and 200 days moving average, Double Tops, Double Lows, Head and Shoulders, Reversal Head and Shoulders, ... It takes time to show on the chart. I can't trade a stock that has not showing those indicators.

In the RIVN 12 trading days, those indicators don't appear on the chart. Take a look of RIVN chart that its RSI, MACD, Slow STO, are all blank. I can't predict the up or down. I don't want to trade nervously that I don't have any indicator. I don't care about the intro-day chart every minute. I use the daily chart for one year period. I am not a day-trader, but a swing trader. When RSI is green, I sold that stock, when RSI is pink, I bought gradually for a good stock.

Every stock can make you rich, every stock can make you loss.

Investor vs. Speculator

Are you an investor or a speculator? Recent years more and more car makers are making EV cars. This became a trend, a fashion.

Rivian is a EV truck maker, Rivian made its debut as IPO "RIVN" on Nov 1 0, 2021. RIVN ipo pr*ce set at $78. CNBC started 2 discuss RIVN one hour before the initial opening . When the TV reporter said AMZN owns 20.22 % stake and Ford owns 1 2 % stake of RIVN. AMZN pre-ordered a hundred thousand trucks from RIVN as AMZN use for delivery. AMZN jumped 2 $3,605 just as I predicted 2 set GTC limited order s*ll at $3.600. At the time RIVN indicated 2 open at 1 1 5. When the reporter said for the past consecutive 3 yrs, RIVN's losses increased more each yr. RIVN went down t* $98. RIVN hasn't sold a truck 2 Amazon, but Jeff Bezos ride on a Rivian truck on the day he went 2 his "Blue Origin" flight 2 space.

Currently Tesla is the leader of EV car maker and became a trillion market cap. I sold al* my TSLA and made profits. Tesla currently operates out of four full-operational facilities. 3 are in the USA, and one is in China. Many Gigafactory will be coming in Berlin Germany, and more. Tesla cars are neat, chic and fashionable, but I don't like Tesla "cybertruck". Rivian trucks much appealing.

One MD told m* that his friend made profits *n RIVN debut and continuously making profits using day-trade. That MD said my stock strategy that NOT 2 trade IPO stocks is wrong. That MD's friend didn't say how much profits he made. I assume NOT MUCH and very scary ride to make profits. RIVN is still losing m*ney (no profit), no P/E ratio, no EPS (earning per share). TSLA has profits $3.09 per share, Ford has $0.72 per share, GM has $7.48 per share profits. TSLA is the "Bellwether stock" of EV cars. are other EV car makers such as Lucid (LCID) is losing m*ney with P/E ratio -0.76 (negative), EPS -5.89 (loss).

Are you a investor or a speculator? Do your homework diligently. IPO stocks have no chart for me to read, I can't know where is buying point or selling point. I have told that MD to own NVDA many times, but he didn't listen. Then he tried to persuade me 2 trade IPO stocks. I own 21 stocks now and need to concentrate on my holding. I don't want 2 trade IPO stocks.

AFF has edited my blogs 2 a point that are difficult 2 understand.

Please do NOT long NVDA. I have bought and sold NVDA 3 times since last year. NVDA's RSI is too high, time to take profits. Please s*ll NVDA and TSLA.

I already s*ld NVDA and TSLA that mean they are too expensive.

Do you read my past blogs that I mentioned many times that I admire Tesla CEO, Elon Musk as Engineer, Entrepreneur, and Environmentalist? I bought a Tesla EV car for myself as Christmas gift last year. The EV car amazed me with no motor oil, no engine, no oil pump, automatic windshield wipers on when raining, wipes automatically stop when rain stops. A computer monitor shows GPS map and music. My smartphone app connected to my Tesla car, when I approach it, the door opens, when I leave the car, the door locked. Also many other functions. It is a chic and clean car, no air pollution, no greasy hands.

I also post a blog "My stock strategy and principles (Do and Don't)" that if I trust the CEO's, I will own the stocks when the trillion market cap down with the market. I mentioned AAPL, AMZN, MSFT, GOOGL, FB, ... I said I like Elon Musk, so I own TSLA when it was down. I kept purchase TSLA even it was NOT a trillion market cap. I said I will hold it till it is $1,000. Yes, I held TSLA and today I start to s*ll it at $1,000, $1,0, $1,025, $1,032.74 and $1,045. I still have many shares. I took profits Tesla passes a trillion market cap company at $995 a share. I told you Elon Musk is a smart man who owns 3 companies, SpaceX, Tesla and a Solar Panel company.

Do you remember I said own Taiwanese semiconductor sector in USA? TSM, NVDA and AMD. Today NVDA and AMD which companies CEO are Taiwanese-Americans came to USA when they were young. They graduated from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). We joke MIT is "Made in Taiwan". AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) female CEO, Lisa Su has Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees from MIT. I sold some NVDA and AMD as their stocks surpassed -time highs. China bribed and stole 300 employees from TSM (Taiwanese Semiconductor) paying them 3 to t*n times salaries. So, TSM didn't pass -time high.

If you trust my stock strategy in my blog, you can be a millionaire I did. I don't own Chinese stock at .

I am very happy today. My TSLA, NVDA and AMD reached -time highs and I took some profits.

Taiwan is Formosa

The island of Taiwan, formerly known as Formosa, was inhabited by aborigines before the 17th century, when Dutch and Spanish colonies opened the island to mass Han immigration. After a brief rule by the Kingdom of Tungning 東寧王國, the island was annexed in 1683 by the Qing dynasty, the last dynasty of China.

I was born and raised in Taiwan and my ancestors have lived in Taiwan for more than 400 years. My native "mother's tongue" language is Taiwanese. But Chiang 蔣中正retreated to Taiwan with 2 million soldiers in 1949. Chiang as president of Taiwan, he forced Taiwanese to learn Mandarin Chinese. The former U.S. president, Jimmy Carter announced to abandon Taiwan in Nov 1979. My mom was in USA and just in time to apply immigration for me to come to USA in 1980. I have resided in USA ever since for more than 41 years.

October 1st is CCP controlled China for 72 years anniversary day. CCP sent 38 fighting jets to threat Taiwan, on Oct. 2nd sent another 39 jets, Oct 3rd another 16 jets, Oct 4th another 56 jets, totaling 149 jets in 4 consecutive days. In 2021 alone, CCP already sent 800+ jets to intimidate Taiwan. Taiwan has NEVER done any wrong to China but CCP has saber-ratting Taiwan since the USA established diplomatic relationship with China in 1980 and changed China's economy for 40 years to become the world 2nd place.

Knowing the history of CCP that gone through Great Famine, Cultural Revolution that k*lled more than 80 million Chinese people and shut down "Iron Curtain", China's economy had backward 30 years behind the world. My mom was scared about CCP's atrocities, so she took me to the USA.

Taiwan has its own sovereignty, constitution, national flag, national anthem, passport, presidential elections, democracy,... We are peaceful people. However, CCP kept intimidating Taiwan, isolating Taiwan from W.H.O., W.T.O. and diplomatic relationships with many countries. There are many people don't know what and where Taiwan located. They mistakenly thought Taiwan is Thailand. That's why I want to post this blog to introduce "Taiwan". It's the least I can do for Taiwan.

Australia vs. China

Five Eyes (FVEY) Alliance is an intelligence alliance comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QSD) or QUAD Group
is an informal strategic forum comprising India, Japan, Australia and the United States of America. It is a grouping frequently seen in the news nowadays because of the current geopolitical situation in the world. Joint Statement from Quad Leaders issued on Sept. 24, 2021 pertaining to COVID-19 pandemic, the climate crisis, and critical and emerging technologies (Indo-Pacific). Biden officials stress Quad is an ‘unofficial gathering,’ ‘not a military alliance,’ ahead of first in-person meeting.

AUKUS - is a trilateral security pact between Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, announced on 15 September 2021 for the Indo-Pacific region. Under the pact, the US and the UK will help Australia to acquire nuclear-powered submarines. The announcement of the new Indo-Pacific security alliance between Australia, the UK, and the USA– dubbed ‘AUKUS’ – has led to the biggest crisis in transatlantic relations since the Iraq war in 2003.

HOWEVER, France drops meeting with UK defence secretary in backlash over AUKUS deal (help Australia to acquire nuclear-powered submarines). Australia's AUKUS deal sparked a diplomatic crisis with France, resulting in Paris recalling its ambassadors from Washington and Canberra. French and EU officials claim they were kept in the dark about the AUKUS deal, which resulted in the scrapped Australia-France submarine contract. French President Emmanuel Macron says he spoke with US President Joe Biden over the telephone to discuss the crisis. To solve the problem is France will sell the nuclear-powered submarines to India instead of Australia.

China's energy crisis - China has stopped to purchase "coal" from Australia since Dec 2020 as retaliation. China is world top #1 using coal to get power (electricity). Australia coal has the best quality. Without Australia coal to make electricity, China stops the power in 30+ provinces. Some cities have only one or two days in a week to provide electricity. The foods in the refrigerators have rotted. The factories stopped producing products, iPhone, Tesla cars. The winter is coming. To avoid repeats of the chaos ravaging the world’s second biggest economy, the country will probably have to take major steps toward reshaping its grid and power market, building fuel reserves, and adding more renewable and flexible energy sources.

恒大債彈快爆炸,許家印有牢獄之災?

China’s “highly distressed” real estate companies are at risk of collapse as the country’s highly indebted developer Evergrande is on the brink of default, warns AllianceBernstein’s Jenny Zeng.

“In the offshore dollar market, there is a considerable large portion of developers (who) are implied to be highly distressed,” Zeng said. These developers “can’t survive much longer” if the refinancing channel remains shut for a prolonged period, she added.

Evergrande恒大, the world’s most indebted property developer, is crumbling under the weight of more than $300 billion of debt and warned more than once it could default. Banks have reportedly declined to extend new loans to buyers of uncompleted Evergrande恒大 residential projects, while ratings agencies have repeatedly downgraded the firm, citing its liquidity crunch.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is like a bombshell exploded in China but also effected on the Wall Street stock market on Monday, Sept 20th. I don't have any Chinese stock at all, so I am Okay. But my banker friend has Alibaba (BABA) that is the biggest online retail company in China. Although the retail giant Alibaba has nothing to do with the real estate developer, 恒大 Evergrande, but all of the Chinese stock has plunged any way.

Private own companies learned from CCP's corruption, they are also corrupted. The worst is those Chinese people bought the properties from 恒大. It might incur a "domino effect" on Chinese economy.

Xi personality cult狂熱崇拜 is a danger to China

The original writer of this article is Mr. Gideon Rachman, a British journalist.

Chinese as y*ung as * will soon be required take lessons in Xi Jinping 习近平thought. Before they reach their teenage years, pupils will be expected learn stories about the Chinese leader’s life and to understand that “Grandpa Xi Jinping 习近平has always cared for us.

This should be an alarm bell for modern China. The state-led veneration of Xi has echoes of the personality cult 狂熱崇拜around Mao Zedong 毛泽东— and with it, of the famines and terror unleashed by Mao during the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution. From Stalin’s Russia to Ceausescu’s Romania to Kim’s North Korea and Castro’s Cuba, the combination of a personality cult and Communist Party rule is usually a recipe for poverty and brutality.

These comparisons may seem far-fetched, given the wealth and sophistication of modern China. The country’s economic transformation in recent decades has been remarkable — leading Beijing to promote a “China model” from which the world can learn.

But it is important to make a distinction between the “China model” and the “Xi model”. The China model of reform and opening, put in place by Deng Xiaoping, was based on a rejection of the cult of personality. Deng urged officials to “seek truth from facts”. Policy should be guided by a pragmatic observation of what works, rather than the grandiose statements of Chairman Mao.

To allow officials to experiment with new economic policies, it was crucial to break with the fear and dogma associated with an all-powerful leader. Term limits for the Chinese presidency were introduced in 1982, restricting any leader to two five-year terms. In the post-Deng years, China has managed two orderly leadership transitions — from Jiang Zemin江泽民 to Hu Jintao胡锦涛, and from Hu to Xi in 20.

Term limits were also intended to solve the succession problem that often plagues one-party states. Henceforth, the party’s collective leadership would matter more than the charismatic leadership of a single man.

But, in the Xi era, the Chinese Communist party has once again embraced a personality cult. It incorporated Xi Jinping thought into its constitution at a congress in 20. This was an honour previously granted to one other leader, while still in power — Mao. In 2018, the Deng-era term limits for the Chinese presidency were abolished — setting the stage for Xi to rule for decades, if not for life.

The current intensification of the Xi cult, looks like preparation for next year’s party congress — at which the Chinese leader’s desire to stay on in power indefinitely, will have to be rubber-stamped by the party he controls.

Xi is almost certain to get his way. His supporters and organized sycophants will hail the move. How could they not? The Chinese leader is meant to be a “good emperor” — a wise leader, is making all the right moves modernize the country.

is certainly possible make a case for Xi’s signature policies — such as a crackdown on corruption and a more assertive foreign policy. The current campaigns reduce inequality, and control the power of the big technology companies, can also be justified.

But all of these policies could also easily go wrong. Intimidating Taiwan could lead a needless confrontation with the US. Cracking down on big tech could frighten entrepreneurs and hobble the private sector.

The real difficulty is that if things do go wrong, it will be very hard for anybody to say so openly. All personality cults are based on the idea that the great leader is wiser than everyone surrounds him. He cannot be acknowledged have made mistakes. Chinese critics of Xi’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic have been sent prison. will be no public inquiries or parliamentary hearings into the pandemic in Xi’s China.

The Xi cult is also intrinsically humiliating for China’s educated middle- and senior officials — have study Xi thought daily on a special app. They are expected express reverence for the leader’s musings and parrot his favorite phrases, such as “green mountains and clear water are equal mountains of gold and silver”. Anybody finds this ritual objectionable or laughable, would be wise keep their thoughts themselves. The Xi cult means that insincerity and fear are now baked into the Chinese system.

Extending Xi’s leadership long into the future is also a recipe for a future succession crisis. The Chinese leader is 68 years old. At some point, he will no longer be fit to govern. But how will he be removed?

Xi’s creation of a cult of personality and his moves to become, in effect, “ruler for life” are part of a disturbing global pattern. In Russia, Vladimir Putin is also pushing through constitutional changes that will allow him to remain as president well into his eighties. Donald Trump used to “joke” enviously that the US should emulate China’s abolition of presidential term limits.

But the US has checks and balances 制衡, which have so far managed to thwart Trump’s worst instincts. In a country such as China — without independent courts, elections or a free media — are no real constraints on a leadership cult. That is why Xi is now a danger his own country.

20 years after 9/11 attack, the USA stands strong

I still remembering vividly on that horrifying morning of 9/11/2001 around 8:45, my mom called me from 30 minutes driving distance and said "turn on your TV, something is terribly wrong in New York". I was on internet checking my email messages and prepare for the day.

It was gut-wrenching pictures from TV that 19 terrorists from Mid-East hijacked 4 of U.S. airplanes, two planes flown into World Trade twin towers and one plane flown to the Pentagon and one fell into ground when the passengers fought with terrorists. The total casualty is about 3,000 people. We won't forget, we won't forgive for what those terrorists have done to us.

The USA is the greatest country, welcome and accept immigrants to this country. I am forever patriot and appreciate what the USA given me the peaceful safety. Ever since 9/11 attack, the airline companies required you to take shoes off, TSA (Transportation Security Administration) check your body and luggage with the metal detector, not allowing to bring any knife or water bottle. Not mention the pandemic disease since 2020, all passengers required to wear masks and two vaccine shots to board on the planes.

The USA is still the strongest country, protecting Americans and allies. The best educational universities, the best technology, and best military force. God bless America.

My stock strategy and principles (Do and Don't)

Do invest in the following companies:

1. The market cap more than trillions, i.e.: AAPL, AMZN, MSFT, GOOGL, FB, If you like bank stock, own JPM even though it's not a trillion market cap, but the best bank. it's been said hundred times on CNBC about 'MAGA stocks'. When the market has a big correction (panic selling), own these 6 stocks. Large companies will go down as the market go down, have courage to own these 6 stocks with a sma*l quantities and if they go down further, own even more.
When I was still working as a pharmacist, I saw the pharmacy techs went 2 the Apple store outside at midnight waiting for the door to open to own iPhone, when Steve Jobs was still alive. I bought 500 shares @ $75 in 20 09, but sold too soon. I emailed to my banker, he bought AAPL @ $385 and never sold a share. His $385 then split 1 to 7, so his AAPL is $55 a share, then AAPL split 1 in 4, so his AAPL is $ 13.75 a share and he has more than 4,000 shares plus large dividends. If I keep my 500 shares @ $75, after 7 split is less than $ 10.71 and then split to 4, my could be $2.7 a share and 140k shares. AAPL recent is $4.98. My profit could be $4.98 - $2.7 = $2.28 x 140K shares = $2,1,920 (2. million). I believe in large companies w/ trillion market cap. Good companies, good pr*ces and good dividends.

My banker friend said when invest in a stock, trust its CEO. If you trust the CEO, the company's stock. Do you trust Steve Jobs, and Tim Cook? If you do, own AAPL. It will go down but eventually it will go up. Do you believe in Google CEO, Larry Page, Eric Schmidt, Sundar Pichal? If you do, own Google. If you believe in Bill Gates, own MSFT. When MSFT CEO changed to Steve Balimer, he wasted t*n yrs time for MSFT 2 go flat (side way). Until CEO changed 2 Satya Nadella (an Indian), MSFT stock has surged to trillion company. If you believe in Jeff Bezos, own AMZN. If you believe in Mark Zuckerberg, own Face Book. If you like Jamie Dimon, own JPM Chase Bank. Knowing the CEO will make you rich. When those companies have bad news, own more shares as mkt went down. CEO knows his company, my banker CEO/Chairman said.

I like Elon Musk, so I have Tesla car and stock. He owns 3 companies as CEO. Elon Musk shouldn't trust CCP and has a factory in China. That is a wrong decision.

2. Buy Taiwanese stocks - Taiwan is the world #1 in semiconductor industry. I am a Taiwanese-American. I watch YouTube videos from Taiwan which stock is good in U.S. stock market. TSM 台積電, NVDA, AMD and a Bio-tech company REGN. Those 4 stocks CEO are Taiwanese-American. Taiwan time zone is hrs ahead of Pacific time zone. So, I can know Taiwanese companies before the market opens in USA. I am bilingual, so I understand what Taiwanese said. I have bought TSM 台積電, NVDA, AMD and REGN in last year and this year. Those stocks I believe in and made me very rich. I have a loss of 1/2 million in Dec 2000 when Al Gore and George W. Bush fought for the presidential election. I went back to work as pharmacist in 2001. My savings were all gone. I filed divorce in May 2004. Now I have 2.3 million in my stocks and near 2 million in real estate.

3. Diversification - own different sectors. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Do your homework diligently. Know what your own in different sectors to prevent the whole sector went down together. Own some hi-tech (software and semiconductor), financial group, Bio-tech, ... etc. Focus on one or two companies in each sector.

DO NOT invest in those stocks

1. Don't own SPAC (Special-purpose acquisition company) IPO companies- AKA a blank ch*ck company. Some rich investors have extra m*ney and support a poor company couldn't qualify SEC for minimum requirement 2 be IPO. I have a stock symbol QS which is a loser. I didn't know it's a SPAC IPO company when I bought that loser stock.

2. Don't own Bitcoin or Cryptocurrencies - Digital mon*y system associated with currency. There is no CEO, no CFO, .... nobody you can trust. I deem Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies are "Tulip mania". It will be a big bubble. I know some billionaires own Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies. I don't like any "digital " that don't have a CEO or CFO, ...

3. Don't own Chinese stocks - I don't trust CCP, Xi Jinpin.
When Obama was president and Hilary was the secretary of state, I bought long on Google and shorting Baidu. Baidu is the Chinese search engine that CCP approved to censor certain news, information, on Chinese internet, such as Great Famine, Cultural Revolution, Tienanmen Square Massacre, Falun Gong practitioners organ harvesting, Xin Jung, Mongolia, Tibet, no human rights, and forced slave works. China kicked Google of China. I had double losses on both stocks, Google went down, Baidu went up. That was about or years ago. I forever not buying any Chinese stocks. Chinese stocks plummeted to less than 1/2 in many stocks recently.

4. Don't own IPO stocks on first d*y or first week or first month. For three reasons: 1) Goldman Sac or Morgan Stanley will promote the IPO stocks debut on the first d*y and made huge commission. 2) IPO has six month period that insiders can't s*ll the stock, but once six months expires, they can s*ll the stock for profits. 3) IPO has no chart that give m* the indication for future prediction. I have spent $1,000 2 learn chart reading. All the reactions investors have done shown on chart, no matter good news or bad news.

5. Don't own Airline companies - ever since 9//2001 terror attack on U.S. soil, I decided not to watch airline stocks. It's none of my business if go up or down. The airplane may crash, oil may go up, pilots and attendants on strike, the pandemic spreading, bad customer serv*ces, .... Why should I own airline companies? when I have AAPL, AMZN, MSFT, GOOGL, , TSLA, JPM, TSM, NVDA, AMD and REGN 2 make fortune. Just watch these stocks, b*y low, s*ll h*gh. Trust their CEO's.

6. Don't own "Meme stocks" - 網路迷因是指因為在網路上傳播而一夕爆紅的東西。 Meme stocks including AMC, GME, BBBY, BB, WKHS, HOOD, COIN, ... Don't touch those volatile stocks, they don't have fundamental base, but controlled by a company named "Robinhood (HOOD) company". Those companies have in dangerous in bankruptcy and many investors tried to short them. Robinhood company uses the investors to those stocks forced the shorter investors to cover and created "short squeeze". One 20 y/o jointed Robinhood and thought his had margin calls and lost more than $0K that he couldn't the loss, so he suicide. His parents found his words before he suicide. His parents asked for compensation. SEC took those stocks especially GME in hold (ceased the trades) for few days. I don't have the stomach for those dangerous Meme stocks.
