So Busy and So Little Time Wow!!! Learned to do the hula in Hawaii. It is a cultural thing that tourists seem to want to try when they are in the Islands. It is very sensual and soothing when done properly. As an added benefit, it does tighten up the tummy region and builds up the calves and thighs without the running. And the beach boys. So bold. I really did not want to go learn how to surf with some guy lying on top of my butt as we paddle out beyond the surf. Went to Europe the end of June to attend a small conference that deals with my research. It was nice but so expensive. It is a good thing I can draw Euros from our foreign accounts to take care of my expenses. On 1 July started my post-doc and then got a few days off for the Fourth of July.  . My advisors are going to let me define my project and provide me with lots of support. I have a nice travel stipend to go to conferences or to conduct research.And speaking of research, it is off to China to do some research and of course take time off to see some of the Olympic venues. My sister cancelled our original hotel reservations and got the same rooms at a lower price. It seems that not as many foreigners are showing up for the Olympic Games. Maybe it is because of the smog or air quality or maybe their way of protesting Tibet (yawn). Hope you enjoy the month of August. See you in September. VICKY |

Vicky, Europe is so expensive these days. The dollar is weak. What field is your Post-Doc ? I am like a post doc, but they call it a clerkship. So I am just a low level clerk. Come back safe from Beijing.
