QUESTION

Suppose there is an architect , he decides to give up his job and become a hotel waiter or a courier, what will you think of him in your country?

in China, most people must think that he is ruining his future.

Recently in western society people tend to change occupation due to stress or a burn-out. Going from architect to an hotel waiter/courier is a very extreme example though

It's difficult to say how most people will react here in that case. Most people want to know why he did that and ofcourse give there opinion partly based on their own view on work-life (here we use often the term "Do you life to work" or "Do you work to life")

I guess he wanted to leave that job because of unbearable stress and too much overtime.
I support him. Obviously, the original job was not suitable for him, and could not accompany him for the next twenty years. he has to correct the mistake as soon as possible

Mulan, I'm in the cabinet business now, but my real job was a heart surgeon. Unfortunately, I had to leave that profession as I often cut too deep.

how many years have you wasted on being a heart surgeon (school + work) ?
do you feel happier than before of being a salesman?
