Dating sites always have questions about traveling other countries meet a possible mate.

Long distance relationships have their risks at any level.
I have known lots of people who have traveled domestically a few hundred miles only be disappointed...
Would traveling ten thousand miles increase your odds of finding love? Of course not.

My suggestion is be sensible in your decisions and planning. Know what you want accomplish and make a back up plan in case your first plan gets changed.

It is a good thing if you speak English going an English speaking country. If not, you could have barriers, especially as many customs officers only know a handful of words in English. Large cities often cater to tourists. Taxi and hotel support often speak English. Make sure you have an idea of the route as some taxi drivers will circle you around the city or take the long way adding minutes to the drive that raises the fare.

Currency... do not exchange at the airport, they have the highest fees. Do your transactions at a bank.
You may find someone hanging around the front of the bank offering better than the bank. Consider the you receive could be counterfeit. I would not consider risking it. I also would not consider doing a transaction on the street as you could be robbed or arrested as the police in some countries do not allow private exchange.

Do as much research as you can... be comfortable with laws as many places do not allow photography in public, so that perfect sunset between some statues could get your video equipment confiscated... or worse.

If they drive on the opposite side of the road than your country forget renting a vehicle. Going to Italy? Forget driving there as every driver on the road is a Mario Andretti. Also, if the car in front constantly speeds up and slows down and is totally annoying DO NOT PASS HIM. Many do this as a ploy to videotape you and send it to the authorities. They make commission for turning you in. Their gain and your loss.

On Saturday we went pressure clean the roof and the 1800 psi washer shut down a few times so I went Home Depot and bought a 2000 psi pressure washer and the 2 of us were working. The goal was finish in one day. My stopped by to show research of house prices in the neighborhood and that put us behind schedule. It was dark but we got most of the barrel tile part finished.

We did this roof about 4 ago and it darkened from mildew. Amazing transformation with only water pressure.

Yeah, she is wearing my boots!

I saw a story yesterday about the long-term weightless effects on the human body. Astronauts returning after months aboard the International Space Station had swollen optic nerves, slightly flattened eyeballs that caused changes in vision. Some developed blood clots.

If you recall in science class, some of the veins in the legs have one-way valves called the venous pump. Researchers are finding blood flow while in orbit becomes irregular and fluids that are normally held down by gravity now float to the head, increasing pressure to the skull.

I noticed 2 new profiles this week with IDENTICAL introductions. This happens a few times a month. Running the opening line through a search, it revealed the same introduction for women on Russian (and Ukraine) marriage sites. This has been going on for years.

The photos on the copycat sites didn't look Russian, nor did they claim the member was in Europe. Typically, they appeared to be home-grown from cities in America.

My best guess is the profiles on Russian sites were created real marriage brokers and the copycat profiles were created African scammers.

The RAZR is back!

Last week it was a leaked rumor. This week it's been confirmed. Motorola is bringing back the legendary RAZR flip-phone. Introduced in 2004, the RAZR was such a item that Motorola sold more than one hundred thirty million units in 4 years making it the best- clamshell phone in the world.
Eventually sales slumped as touchscreen phones became popular and Samsung took the market lead. In 20 Motorola resurrected the RAZR 20.
On November , 2019 Motorola released details that an Android based RAZR will be released for 2020 exclusively through Verizon Wireless at a price of $1,500.

I don't have a crystal ball, but I'll make a prediction that the initial review will be slower than expected. Those have service with other providers won't be willing jump ship and there will be a market for cracked/unlocked phones, but I suspect at $1,500 you can a flagship Samsung S10+ and have enough left over for 65" Samsung 4K UHD TV.

FM Radio is at an all-time low...

As far as concerned, FM Radio is an all-time low...

20 years ago, the FCC allowed FM radio broadcasts to carry digital data encoded into their analog signal. This was used to encode Metadata... the information about song title, artist, album, song length, etc.

If you had an old car radio it didn't matter as the additional information was transparent and had no affect the music format. Only newer radios could interpret the digital messages, usually streaming them along a 'ticker-tape' line on the radio display.

Modern car radios have a total digital experience by incorporating the screen for GPS, Radio, Backup camera and many other features. The car I own has a nice size display, but the radio only shows station name, song/artist in a small stream and the station I.D.

I had a rental car this year with a radio that received album name and images from the CD/album cover. I liked that part of the radio.

At the end of last year, a few local radio stations started introducing messages on the streaming window. Numbers to for contests, and little by little, advertisements appeared on the display. Car dealers and Attorney advertisements would fit in between song titles. Now, it's the song titles that have to fit in between the advertisements.
One station plays 2 different advertisements and at the same time you get to listen to a third advertisement.
.
Yeah, all time low.

We were in Miami last weekend doing more house renovation to prepare for a sale. One thing needed was to pressure clean the sidewalk and front porch. My helper insisted pushing me aside as she's got control of the pressure. How much pressure? It would appear to be 1800 psi.

I usually do some online research before buying any products. That said, if I search for products that are available in store now, the search engine should actually show products that are... IN STORE NOW!
Not always the case, and many retailers rely on huge inventories that are shipped from remote warehouses and not all from one location. That's what trying to avoid.

Many folks have become addicted to Amazon and their free delivery. I don't want to wait for many of the items I purchase. Give me something to touch and feel before I get my debit !

The memory foam mattress topper I wanted was not available in the local places I was shopping at and had to be ordered in. Three days shipped to my door. It was a little softer than I expected, but too much trouble to send back, wait for and order another.

Earlier today I went to visit niece and her 2 children. On the way back, I stopped for groceries and found a father & son team playing music in the parking lot. The term is busking and it refers to playing in a public place for donations.

As the story goes, Guiseppe was wailing away on a violin with some prerecorded music in the background. Both players were amplified and can be heard across the large parking lot of a mall.

It shouldn't come as a surprise anyone. I grew up in a conservative household. Toothpaste? , we pulled the tube against the edge of a desk squeeze every bit. I remember once (or twice) having completely flatten it for a family member!
It wasn't that we didn't have another tube open, conservatism was our lifestyle.
Getting ready go and the a/c was turned off way before we made it the front door.

My mom used walk around and see if a light was on... someone had better be using it.

Food in my house didn't go waste. Salad dressing... much the . If a few teaspoonfuls were left at the bottom of your bowl... you were wasting it.

My dad had a pretty good memory too. He could tell you what he had for dinner on the first Monday in September 1967... Sunday's leftovers!
