You know I'm kidding... don't you? Not long ago only 3 or 4 of us were posting blogs and less making blog comments... I literally begged some people to blog here.
Well, it's happening. I'm DELIGHTED to see all of the activity going on at Asia Friend Finder. It's a good feeling to see all the participation in the blog section!

Daddy's Girl 101
|

If you've ever taken college/university courses, you know how the numbering system works. This is the primary lesson (101) in how to be daddy's girl...
You are a naive young girl aspiring to be a Daddy's girl, but you're going to need some help. First lesson today is: "Ask for a pony when all you wanted was a puppy"
The reasoning behind this is to aim really high. If you ask for a puppy, daddy will say "Honey, the economy is bad, we really cannot afford a puppy right now. Besides, it's a lot of responsibility on your part. Wouldn't you really like to have some goldfish?"
You and I know this is BS and TOTALLY unacceptable. You want a freakin' puppy... not goldfish.
No two ways about this. Right?
So 'blow him out of the water' and ask for a pony. Watch his eyes roll in their sockets while he soaks this in, then say "Jenny's parents are getting her a white stallion for her birthday..."
Expect his next few words to have a studder. "B Bu Butt... W We Ca Ca Cannot afford a phony honey" (notice he didn't say pony correctly? his knees are beginning to buckle)
That's when you have him in your sights. Time to go for it. Offer your lowest bid (and look really, really sad when you say this) "Then will you get me a puppy daddy?"
He will be so relieved, you'll get that puppy after all.
That's my Daddy's Girl!
You have successfully completed your first lesson in Daddy's Girl 101. Go get some ice cream to celebrate.
Thanks for reading. Give me a big hug! In my next lesson of Daddy's Girl, I'll show you teenage girls how to parlay a hand me down Chevy Nova into a shiny new Acura Integra for your first year away at college.

Lunar eclipse viewed from Miami...

I stepped outside around 6:15am to see the eclipse toward the West, about 15 degrees above the horizon in a partly cloudy sky. I should have gotten up earlier as it was already a few minutes past the full eclipse (penumbra) and a small portion of direct light was beginning to show. From Miami, I only saw the greyish coloration and not the blood red as some of the news stories listed. Getting ready for work, I didn't get outside until 7 o'clock and the moon had already dropped below the horizon.

He started the band in 1960 and went on to be one of the most memorable Classic Rock bands in history. With many different members over the years, the group is/was still touring.

It's called Windows 10...

Soon... the complaints about Windows 8 and 8.1 will be over. Well, we hope. There was talk in the industry that Microsoft was working on Windows 9 as a solution to bring back the familiar desktop with start menu that left us after Windows 7. Windows 9 discussions appears to be old news and updates this week say Microsoft is rolling out what they are calling Windows 10 in a tech preview (beta-testing for experts & IT pros) as rough, unpolished versions for users to try and offer feedback to Microsoft.
This preview appears to be available for download from their website and includes a feedback app you can submit reviews/requests directly to Microsoft.
I'm happy to hear the news and if any of you techie guys get the jump on this, please comment your findings to my blog. Thanks!

When your blog gets pulled from the front page...

I wrote a blog yesterday that appeared on the front page like normal. Then it disappeared. It's on my blog list but it's being repressed from showing on the main blogs listing. Apparently, there was something in my blog that was too terrible to show the other members.
I'm not the only one who has experienced this... say no more!

Bendgate...

Okay... who waited in line to buy the new Apple iPhone 6+ ?? If there's any company unaffected by faulty products it's got to be Apple. Try this with another company and chances are, they would go 'belly-up' in a mater of a few weeks. I'm referring to the iPhone 6 and 6+ that were recently released. Several companies posted YouTube videos of these phones being tortured tested. The results aren't too pleasing... Some reports were sitting down with the phone in your back pocket could bend the aluminum case, thus damaging the phone. The aluminum frames don't hold up under pressure and the cases bent. Some bent so bad, the screens popped off the body of the case.
The industry has already named this problem "Bendgate".
Apple made a statement (side stepping the real issue as expected) explaining the high quality materials that go into the making of these models and a bend is extremely rare. If you have questions, please contact Apple. They acknowledged only a handful of reports of bent cases when the owners had the phone in their back pocket and tried sitting.
Already one YouTube video has a guy bending a 6+ in his bare hands that's been viewed more than 2 million times. He did another demonstration in public with similar results.
I carry around a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in my back pocket and haven't experienced the case bending. The iPhone 6+ wasn't out a week and the warnings about bending cases went viral.
The point being... maybe Apple should have done more rigorous testing when offering a phone with a large screen. Samsung has been doing it successfully for four years now.

We have a few married members who share time with us in the chat room. I enjoy that as one of our chatters is a Chinese woman, married to a Caucasian man. It's a big risk to move to another country in the quest for love, it appears she is happy with her decision.
That said... I'm not sure I'll have time to blog and chat here after my fiance arrives. For the most part, I came here for dating in the beginning (many years ago) and left for other dating sites. I didn't cancel my membership. On my return, I was here mostly for friendship. Dating and seeking a mate was not important. I was already working on a long-distance relationship at the time. My fiance and I had a few setbacks and I thought the relationship would end, but we both remained committed to making things work and overcame our obstacles.
If you know me, you know I haven't flirted in the chat room. My intentions are honorable. Whenever I receive a legitimate message, I clarify, I'm only here for friendship. My introduction (in English and Chinese) clearly says that.
Part of the reason for my presence here is to report fraudulent profiles. Last week, a new member winked at me. I researched her photo and found it listed on a website where some unsuspecting guy sent her $4,000. Yeah... people do that. Scammers are in business to make money and romance scam is a big business. This makes my blood boil.
Time permitting, I'll continue to visit, but there may be a day when I fade out completely. Not today and not tomorrow...
