Who reversed the navigation buttons?

Around three weeks ago I noticed the navigation buttons on the bottom right of the search screen have been reversed. Do you know what I'm talking about?

If you do a search... let's say members online and you get to the bottom of the page, there are 2 buttons at the bottom right that allow you to advance to the NEXT screen or go back to the PREVIOUS screen.

I thought their placement was somewhat 'a given' as the NEXT button was always on the right side.
Most (nearly all) websites are configured this way. The scroll bar is at the right so you don't have to move your mouse very far to maneuver around the webpage.

I know of one website where the PREVIOUS button was on the far left side of the screen... I can only think it's the work of a newbie who thinks with different logic than the people who actually use the website!

Today, I decided to look at new profiles... woah, those navigation buttons are in the correct location... just like the OLD WAY !!

Big question here... so how do we get the administrators of Asia Friend Finder to move them back to their original location? I'm not a member to the sister 'finder' sites, but I would guess they have the same website design changes there as we have here.

In closing... I know who reversed the navigation buttons... I should be asking WHY?
Why 'fix' something that wasn't broken.

Born: July 21, 1951, Died: August 11, 2014
Actor, Comedian, alcoholic...
The news stories reported that Robin Williams died of an apparent suicide.
For decades he had fought addictions to drugs an alcohol.
Now... it looks as though everyone is looking for answers to the underlying causes to his depression.
I say it was his success. What else could it have been?
He was immensely successful in his career.
His suicide was a result of his overwhelming success. That's my opinion...

Strong Tea...

I like to brew strong Tea... how strong? About 20 bags to a half gallon.
Yes, with natural (not bleached) sugar. Lots of sugar.
I've decided to cut back on my sugar intake... but that could be the subject of a different blog.
I will say, my best brews come from medium hot, but not boiling water.
Any tea that I have made from boiling water was bitter tasting.
As a result, I only heat the water for a minute or two and allow the tea to steep for two or three minutes.
When I pour it into the pitcher, it's clear brown.
I've noticed if I boil the tea, it changes to a cloudy brown and looks like I poured a teaspoonful of milk into it.

Why 20 bags of tea? Why not !!

Don't be a wall hugger...

Maybe you haven't seen the Samsung Galaxy S5 commercial. It's the new phone with Ultra Power Saving Mode and an interchangeable battery. Taking a 'jab' at Apple iPhone users, they show people (at the airport) sitting on the floor next to electrical receptacles, in public restrooms and standing around media charging stations with their phones on charge.

I think it's a powerful message for the serious phone user who has to 'juice-up their phone' once or twice a day.

I found the commercial on YouTube and it's been played nearly 15,000,000 times!
Very funny if you want to search it, use the words: galaxy wall huggers
and it will show up.

Are you a wall hugger?

Milestone...

I reached a milestone this week reaching over 1,000 hits of who viewed my profile. Yes, we all know the numbers are inflated due to the hyperactive mouseover condition.
I had a window over another window and believe it was counting profiles from the window behind the active window.
Try it yourself... open a window with members currently online (but don't actually run the cursor/mouse over these profiles) then open another window and move it over the top of the first one. Move your mouse around the top window then check to see what profiles you recently viewed... amazing... it's showing members from the page beneath the one you were on!

The HOTTEST new photo on Asia Friend Finder...

A new member appeared on the pages of Asia Friend Finder last week. Many of her 19 photos were on the main page of WHATS POPULAR. Day-by-day, she racked up more votes than the other women... especially the photo in a red bikini. I guess it was 'her rack' that attracted the votes...
For standard members (like me) If you click on VIEW ALL, you can see a larger thumbnail yielding a better view. Yes, 20 thumbs up votes on the bikini photo before was pushed off the page by other new members.

Smokin' hot... I should remember that one for a long time !!

Something about that profile bothers me. I'll state my opinion, then shut up.

All the thumbnail photos I saw appeared to be professionally shot. Closeup photos all staged for the camera... none appeared casual and natural. Certainly if a woman is serious about finding a man, she should use the best bait money can buy and good photos are essential. She is a real beauty and the camera captured that. Having seen 1,000's of profiles, I'd put money that her profile is a result of a professional matchmaker... with one exception. It's in Chinese. Normally, young fashionable women are going after English speaking men. This one is different. Again, as a standard member, scanning a profile with the 'mouseover' we can only read the headline and a teaser of approximately two sentences. That was enough for me to copy & paste into a language translator and found the usual commentary (family value, clean house, loves ) it's was the last 3 characters that caught my eye. when I separated them the meaning completely changed, but the last three words together translated to: shoulder fu*k !

Maybe something got lost in the translation...

6.1 earthquake in Southern China...

From the news story this morning, there was a strong earthquake in Southern China's Yunnan province in the city of Ludian. Located between Kunming and Luzhou.
My research shows that in 1974, there was a 7.0 earthquake in the nearby city of Zhaotong and another in the area in 2012.

First reports an estimated 12,000 homes destroyed and at least 175 dead and more than 1,400 injured.

Hopefully disaster rescue teams can get help to these people quickly!

Thanks for reading my blog. Sorry, it wasn't a happy one.

Chinese Hot Pot...

Very often I hear the words 'hot pot' for Chinese cooking.
My translator always converted the word cook to mean boil.
When I went to China, I got to see why.

Go back a few thousand years and the main way of cooking food was to boil it.
Oh... it's boiled in Modern China too!

Take a large bowl and put a divider in the middle.
One side is plain water and the other side is spicy water.

Slice your meats and vegetables into thin strips and drop your food into the boiling water!

I went to a restaurant that had electric hot-plates in every table.
You select what food you want and they bring the raw food to your table so you can cook it and season it to your own taste!
I lied it so much I returned later in the week for more Hot Pot.
.
I took this photo during my meal.
.

Note, I'm adding a photo of a Mongolian Pot for reference.

People with two first names...

This used to annoy my dad. From the TV series The Millionaire, Michael Anthony was the executive secretary to multi-millionaire John Beresford Tipton, Jr.
Each week Michael Anthony would give away a million dollars.

That must have been the start of it for my dad and it followed him throughout his life.

A few months ago at a birthday picnic I got into a bunch of funny conversations and brought up the subject of 's names. Of course I stated the difficulty of naming your if your last name happens to be a first name. Often the gets teased throughout his/her life.

What 'really got them rolling' when I mentioned "If your last name is Dover, don't name your Ben" I had to explain that to my sister-in-law... Ben-Dover.

It took a few seconds for her to get it, but right after, she and another woman were laughing so hard they were in tears!

She asked how I could think up something like that and I explained my older brother and I used to play name games a lot. We created fake names for brothers and sisters of famous people. For example... did you know Lana Turner had a sister? Her name was Stomach.
Jack Lemon has a sister named Sour.
Actor John Bird has a sister Song.

...and remember. If your last name is Rupt, don't name your Bank.

Maybe next time I can blog about people with three first names... Jan Michael Vincent comes to mind.
