Jiali25 的檔案
I love to experiment and learn about new things. In fact, one day last year, my son asked me about how to get helium for a weather balloon. We thought it would be fun to see how high we could get a video camera into outer space. Our space project includes a flight computer that records altitude, temperature, GPS coordinates and controls the heating system for the batteries. We're searching for the perfect launch area. Since the president decommissioned space flight, Houston won't have any part of our project. I like to try new restaurants. On one very memorable occasion, I was taking my family out for Chinese food in Chinatown. My father insisted on looking for a restaurant that he liked 40 years ago. After looking for it until we nearly starved to death, we dragged ourselves into a traditional Korean place that was close by. We got some strange looks when we walked in, which would have scared most normal people away. After we sat down to order from a menu with absolutely no English on it, they brought us about eight bowls of appetizers. One of them had minnows in it, I recognized seaweed in another. Needless to say, we all left pretty hungry. I enjoy helping other people, especially when they need help. A friend of mine lost her job after 22 years in corporate America. One day, they told her to leave her keys, cell phone, and computer in the office and have a nice life. Right before she had a nervous breakdown, I asked her what she wanted to do with her life. After a long conversation one afternoon, I helped her start her own business. When I'm not too busy, I go into Flushing to allow my yoga instructor to convince me to twist my body into all sorts of impossible shapes. The classes are taught in Chinese, which sometimes makes things a bit comical, with me trying to follow along. wo de zhong wen bu shi hen hao. My class always knows I have the wrong pose when my teacher speaks English. It reminds me of when my mom used my middle name as a kid...
