For most of my adult life I was defined by my job and educational experiences. I'm retired now and looking for a new focus, something else and/or someone else to help define the next chapter of my life.
My friends and former colleagues describe me as intelligent, articulate, reserved, reliable, competent, dedicated, easy going and humorous. Women who have seen another layer would add playful and passionate to the mix. I?m basically a casual, down-to-earth guy and the father of a bright, beautiful 21 year old who I love dearly but don?t get to see as often as I?d like. Although I grew up on the east coast I?m basically a laid-back Californian at heart. There?s no hidden agenda here - what you see really is what you get. Honesty, integrity and a good sense of humor are character traits I particularly admire in others and try to emulate. I?m honest, trusting and trustworthy to a fault with one noteworthy exception: in social situations that cry out for levity, I?m not one to let the truth get in the way of a really good story :)
Although I?ve graduated from the 9-5 club I remain active and in good shape mentally and physically. I work out regularly and try to maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle. I?m adventurous to a point but not an adrenaline junkie. My rush comes from autumn scenes and the smell of burning leaves, the nostalgia of an oldies concert, cheering on ?The Fighting Irish?, kissing a pretty girl under a tropical waterfall, sinking a 40-foot chip, snorkeling in crystal clear water, hiking a dormant volcano, touring Cape Cod, and perusing architectural books and magazines for home design ideas. Years ago I sketched a passive solar home which I intended to build on the Cape but never finalized because I kept finding new ideas. If I had the time and energy to ?do it all over again? I?d study architecture with an eye to designing affordable, energy-efficient housing.
For the past 9 years I?ve been living in western Loudoun County on 3 park-like acres with a herd of deer and other assorted wildlife. I?ve been fortunate to have lived in some very scenic parts of this country on two coasts but haven?t seen very much of the outside world and would like to do some serious traveling now that I have the time. For starters I?d like to see China, the Pyramids, the British Isles, Tuscany and Tahiti. I was an avid golfer when I lived in CA and am attempting to revive my game and would like to meet a gal who plays. I enjoy listening to smooth jazz and dancing to a lively beat. Out of necessity I?ve become pretty handy in the kitchen and am a better cook than most women I?ve dated. Finally, I should tell you that I?m a huge Notre Dame fan and never miss a ND football game. I?m not sure what I want to do with all of my free time only what I?m not willing to do any longer. Perhaps you can help me figure that out.
I have eclectic tastes in women but prefer pretty, bright, confident and engaging Asian ladies who take good care of themselves, look natural, and are down-to-earth and easy going. My mother always said ?the eyes are windows to the soul? and she was right. A golfer with a sweet smile and eyes you can get lost in would be just the ticket; cute toes and strappy heels are a plus. I?m looking for my new best friend, someone with the time to share life?s adventures and misadventures, public and private thoughts, intimate moments, walks around the globe and around the block, an occasional Broadway show or hot in Yankee Stadium, a Sunday drive in the country, and a glass of wine on the porch - a gal who isn?t afraid to get her hands dirty or chip a nail and, on occasion, can clean up nicely for the cameras. If this sounds like you please give me a jingle.
